Fulham defender Alfie Mawson has no doubts they’ve improved under new manager Claudio Ranieri.
After their 0-0 draw at Newcastle, Fulham have found a formula to keep a clean sheet after 21 Premier League games conceding, including 42 leaked this season.
Mawson said: “Ranieri’s been brilliant. Three centre halves is a formation that does suit us with the ability we’ve got on the ball and the belief we can get forward more.”
Mawson is back in the side after being dropped and “letting my standards slip.”
He added: ““It was tough, but at the end of the day we do the best job in the world so I can’t complain. I’m not going to moan or go mad at decisions or throw my toys out of the pram. That isn’t me.
“It was a test for me because I’ve played the last two seasons back to back every game, but you have to get on with it.
“It was different for me, being pushed out of my comfort zone and I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it but I’ve learned things about myself and my body which I might not have learned if I was playing all the time.
“It’s good to be back in and now I’ve got to make sure I don’t give the manager the chance to get rid of me to be honest.”
