The defender Jose Holebas announced that terminated his career in the national team of Greece. 32-year-old left-back English Watford has taken this decision after having remained in the reserve match against Estonia on Monday.
Holebas is felt that coach Michael Skiba did not count as the first option in the post, in the last three games he played only 12 minutes. The German coach of Greece relies on the post left defender Giorgos Tzavelas and Kostas Stafilidis, and even in injury to another fullback, Holebas remained on the bench.
The German-born Holebas is the son of a Greek immigrant and mother of Uruguay. He has 38 games and 1 goal for the national team of their ethnic homeland since 2011-a year before. His official reason was that he wanted to make way for younger and therefore retired from the national team.
