Liverpool are reportedly interested in Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta, as Jurgen Klopp’s summer spending looks set to continue.
A deal for creative midfielder Nabil Fekir from Lyon has fallen through for the Reds – as reported by The Daily Star – but Klopp is supposedly still keen on adding a player in that same ilk before the conclusion of the transfer window.

Paqueta would certainly fit that bill and cost considerably less than Fekir at around £40 million – according to Team Talk. The 20-year old broke into the first team at Flamengo two years ago and has appeared regularly for Brazil’s Under-20’s side, impressing with his attacking flair and physicality.
Team Talk also report that Liverpool could face stiff competition in the form of AC Milan for the young star, with Premier League champions Manchester City also monitoring the situation.
This summer has seen an influx of new signings already at Anfield, with Naby Keita, Alisson, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri all arriving at the club.
Klopp has led the Reds to back-to-back top-four finishes in the Premier League, however, next season they must look to mount a genuine assault on the league title now that they have invested so much in the squad and seemingly have the strong spine required to really compete.
Paqueta would potentially be yet another worthy addition to Liverpool’s set up and would provide yet more competition in the middle of the park, adding to an attacking set-up which is already one of the best in European football given their goalscoring record both domestically and in the Champions League last season.
